I’ve been an employee of MarketStar for about a year now. In my role as corporate brand manager, I’ve had the privilege to sit in a fair amount of incredibly fascinating meetings where the nuances of MarketStar’s methodology, solutions and impact on sales are discussed.
It’s also been my privilege to work in concert with our incredible marketing team to put new tools and content in place that better capture the vision and breadth of the MarketStar offering and create a compelling way to tell that story across a variety of media platforms. The weight of such an endeavor is great, and like any good book, it’s going to play out over the course of many chapters over the next few years.
We are excited to share the first of what we hope are many new and interesting ways for our employees, customers and even competition to learn about our company, what makes us fascinating and our story incredible, and as will be the theme for the upcoming year, how we work to create measurable impact on behalf of great brands around the world.
I’ve been reading a great book by Sally Hogshead titled “Fascinate,” and she says the following on telling a compelling story, “Fascinating people, like fascinating companies, don’t try to explain why they’re fascinating. …
“The wizard of Oz said, ‘A heart is not judged by how much you love but by how much you are loved by others.’ The true measure of fascination lives not in your own communication but in how the world communicates about you.”
We know our story is fascinating and want to do a better job sharing that story. Our goal with this video was to create something that not only shares our story, but also gets viewers thinking and hopefully talking about our industry and the influences that are creating such a dynamic and competitive sales and marketing environment.
In the coming weeks and months we will continue to give our blog followers inside looks at other new communication pieces we hope will get you talking. We’ve been busy mapping ecosystems for all three of our business channels and look forward to rolling those out very soon. We are also busy prepping an update to the website which we hope will better position and define our solution groups.
After showing the video at our annual kick-off last month, a salesperson came up to me and said this video just saved him and his customers 30 minutes and 15 powerpoint slides per presentation in terms of telling our Story. Hopefully that qualifies as fascinating. Please let us know what you think of the video in the comments section below. Feedback is critical to enhancing and evolving our story, so we would love to hear from you.
