Here are a few tips when writing your resume:

  • Don’t write a book. Keep your resume within two pages.
  • Have your resume available in multiple formats, like .pdf or .doc
  • Have an appropriate professional email address listed.
  • Use correct spelling and grammar.
  • Make sure your resume is clean. Don’t use to many different fonts, colors, etc.
  • List experience relevant to the specific position.
  • Don’t list references on your resume. If a recruiter needs references, they will ask you for them.

    Two thoughts:

    1) Never use more than one font. If you do you better be a designer and have a very good reason.

    2) One page resume is preferred and if more than one page you better have a really good reason.
